NIGHT OF THE MOUSTACHE Benefit Concert Set for Friday, November 20

Concert, silent auction will benefit Emancipe+, Animal Trustees of Austin

Lovers of music, animals, and running will come together for the Night of the Moustache, a benefit concert and silent auction at the Tiniest Bar In Texas, on Friday, November 20, benefiting Animal Trustees of Austin and Emancipe+. The event, sponsored by Team Spiridon, Tito’s Vodka, and Dog Almighty, kicks off at 7:00pm. Food, including Dog Almighty's award-winning veggie chili, will be available for a donation, dogs are encouraged, and admission is free, though donations are encouraged.

Opening the entertainment is Sybil, a band on a mission to bring back the institution of rock n’ roll. Their original music, a convergence of influences as varied as Prince and Nirvana, U2 and Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Queen, and others, has been heard on MTV’s Real World, and in the award-winning film In Search of A Midnight Kiss.

Cover Girl, "the universe's coolest all-chick 80's power trio", and the only all-girl 80’s cover band allegedly endorsed by Mr. T, closes out the evening, continuing their growing assault on the Austin music scene.

The silent auction will include merchandise and services from local running and bike shops, artists, spas and salons.

Team Spiridon is a group of local runners training for the Austin Marathon and Half Marathon on February 14, 2010, who are using their sweat and determination this training season to raise funds for these two great causes.

EMANCIPE+ is dedicated to preventing animal homelessness and putting an end to euthanasia as a means of population control by providing low-cost or free surgical sterilization of dogs and cats.

Animal Trustees of Austin, Inc. (ATA) was founded in 1993 to help lost, abused, and abandoned animals in Austin and surrounding counties and to end the crisis of animal overpopulation through sterilization. The organization has grown to include clinics for both wellness and spay/neuter services. Since March 1997, the Spay/Neuter Clinic has safely performed over 80,000 surgeries, and since its inception in June 2002, the Wellness Clinic has provided services to over 100,000 animals.

  1. Hey, Rob! I'm psyched to see y'all tonight. Is NOTM on rain or shine? I'm looking at the forecast and it's pretty wet... like, cats & dogs wet. That actually sounds appropriate, I suppose.
